Self Introduction
I enrolled at KGU two years ago after I quit my job where had been working for 10 years. During the past ten years, I worked as a middle-level leader in the media industry, which provides me an opportunity to have an in-depth understanding of the enterprise management. I have, for many times, been a team leader, and executed the project plan and promotion with my team members, from which I obtained rich experiences in practice and personnel management. But I don’t think it’s enough to support my future career. This is the reason I quit my job to study abroad. Because I want to be a better manager of a multinational enterprise in the future. The dream came true after I graduated from school this Sep. I am working in the global IT company in charge of managing international business based in Japan.

Why did you decide to study in Japan?
I have always admired the fine management mode of Japanese enterprises, especially their rigorous attitude towards product positioning, market survey, customer needs, and personnel management. I did a lot of research on school subjects information before coming to Japan and found the management program of Kwansei Gakuin’s not only provide in-depth research on these subjects, but also endowed the knowledge and skills needed to become a global business leader. Courses by professors from well-known Japanese enterprises provide us the opportunities to know more practical cases, which will be the solid academic supports for my future career. What’s more, most of Japanese universities can provide the scholarship for international students. These two most outstanding reasons led me to decide to study in Japan.

How have your feelings changed since coming to Japan and what is your life in Japan like?
I came to Japan 3 years ago. At first, I was wondering about how the Japanese could focus on every details in order to satisfy the customer needs which is quite different with the service industry from other countries. I’ve began to understand since I learned there is a deep rooted culture called “omotenashi” from marketing program. I have been try to learn more about that and care about my customers what they would like when I doing my work now.

How did you spend or how are you spending your time while studying in Japan?
I am so happy and lucky to have made nice Japanese friends in the free Japanese classes offered by school. Sometimes we hangout together and learn languages from each other, I mean change languages. My Japanese get better and better due to the Japanese friends’ help.

I also did the part time job and worked as TA (teaching assistant) during the past two years which are the jobs not only provided me the opportunity to communicate with the Japanese but also earn the money to support my academic.

What did you gain from Kwansei Gakuin University Business School?
The knowledge which I learned from Business School(IBA)’s professors can help me to realize a deep insight into the Japanese market, including product positioning, customer analysis, planning and promotion, etc. Moreover, during my study in Kwansei Gakuin, I learned a lot of the oversea business management experience, which can provide me a visualized image of my future working environment.

What are your future goals and prospects?
From my point of view, the new media is a very promising industry in the future market. It has been widely utilized by the worldwide enterprises, especially during the product promotion process. Now, my friends in New York and I are jointly developing a new media public platform. Currently, we have made some progress and have the customers of Chinese restaurants and music schools. I hope that I can apply this mode in my future work and help the Japanese companies with their promotion strategies.
